How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

Day 24

Wednesday 24th Dec
@georgialeewoof

Tonight, on Christmas Eve, 24th December 2025 marks 324 days without you, it’s a Christmas that is very bitter sweet as it’s our sweet baby’s first, but also the first without you. But tonight, on Christmas Eve, 24th December 2025 I completed my final mile of 24, with my husband and my babies waiting for me. I ran that last run with so much pride but also so much emotion, I ran in your honour and wore your captains hat for my final mile; raising over £400 for the RNLI @rnli #reindeerrun I miss you incredibly, merry heavenly Christmas grandad❤️

Day 15 and I’ve only just realised…..

Monday 15th Dec
Day 15 and I’ve only just realised I’ve been documenting my runs in two places (not consecutively) so we will try again! But for all runs prior to this one, they are scattered between the updates and galleries sections.

day 13, my best run to date.

Sunday 14th Dec
I am so incredibly proud of myself, but its hard being so proud of myself, doing so well in my efforts and raising money for my grandads favourite charity when I’d redo the 24 miles, 1000x over just for 24 minutes and one more cuddle from you.

1/2 way there❤️

Friday 12th Dec
Although I ran 0.06 miles less today my overall time and pace has seen a significant improvement ! Happy half way

Day 11 and I’ve got a Personal Record in the mile.

Thursday 11th Dec
My grandad would absolutely have loved to see me doing this but I promise you, your in my mind and by my side during every run❤️

Day 10!!

Wednesday 10th Dec
I have been uploading my run progress however, it has uploaded onto my gallery and my updates. Despite this all runs are available to view and accounted for! Thank you so much for your support.

Day 5

Friday 5th Dec

Day 4

Thursday 4th Dec

In honour of my wonderful grandad.

Wednesday 26th Nov
For those who don’t know me, my name is Georgia I’m a 28 year old (unfit) mother of 3. This year we lost our beloved grandad and although the sadness has been hard to navigate I thought instead of being consumed by sadness, I would give him one last Christmas gift. My grandad was a captain and sailed the world, heavily relying on the RNLI to provide assistance if needed. So what better gift to give than giving back in honour of him. That said, I will be running 1 mile a day for 24 days in December to raise money for this amazing cause.
