I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.
In memory of our Dad, Alasdair Barker, who was the coxswain of the Islay Lifeboat for nearly half of his service time, saving a total of 57 lives along with his crew members.
Growing up, we saw the dedication, hard work, and strong will it took to go out whatever the weather and help others. The RNLI do amazing work, and it's thanks to its brave teams that lives are saved at sea every day.
So, this May, we are answering their call for help by taking part in the Mayday Mile (competing at least one mile every day by walking, running or cycling) to help raise money for the kit and training needed to help the crews save lives.
Please donate to support us and consider joining in to complete a mile (or more!) each day this month in any way you like.
