I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.
During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.
By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.
Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Mile a day 5
Monday 5th May Had a walking buddy today, my friend Ellie. We went for a coffee and a catch-up, and I was able to take her to the Central Co-op's Insomnia Cafe. Share

Sunday 4th May My strava is just Heather Mckay if you want to see the exact walks I've done. Share
Mile a day 4
Sunday 4th May MAY THE 4th BE WITH YOU.
Mile day 3
Sunday 4th May I decided to only count 1 intentional mile a day, as on this day I was at Comic Con, so I more than exceeded a mile a day, but I wanted to have 1 intentional one each day, so I only counted the one. Comic con was great, and I got a lot of Star Wars merchandise, including my first Padawan Outpost lightsaber. Share
Mile day 2
Sunday 4th May A good walk, but I was sore by the end. I managed to work, going to the co-op to buy some chocolate for change into my walk, which is also a good boost for morale. Share

Why I am doing this
Sunday 20th Apr As someone who has always loved swimming and scuba diving, I have become very aware of the dangers of these activities, especially in open water. It is essential that services like the RNLI receive funding for the work that they do to help keep the public safe, especially as we move towards the summer months.Thank you to my Sponsors
