Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

Another setback

Monday 8th Dec
I usually expect to fall from a horse about once a year, but on Saturday Bertie decided to wreck my fall statistics by bucking me off. I was wearing an air jacket so my poorly ribs were protected but my left buttock is now twice the size of my right one and a fetching shade of deep purple!

That hurt!

Thursday 4th Dec
Completed a very slow and painful first mile. It felt good to get started and it can only get better!

Ooops I did it again

Monday 1st Dec
Not the start to Reindeer Run month I'd hoped for. A week ago I fell off a horse (again) and injured my ribs. They've been very painful and I haven't been able to do any exercise. I'm still feeling positive about completing 24 miles, but it may be a bit later in the month than I hoped.
