James Gascoigne is running his first half-marathon to raise money for the RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution
RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service to save lives at sea. But they can't launch in answer to desperate calls for help without support. The RNLI relies on supporter fundraising and donations that you and others generously give to enable them to continue to do so.
This is my first time doing a half-marathon. I will be running the Cardiff Half on Oct 4. Helping raise money for a cause as worthy as the RNLI will make it even more special.
Fun fact: I am, apparently, related to the Victorian heroine Grace Darling who, in 1838, helped rescue survivors from the SS Forfarshire, shipwrecked off the Northumberland coast and whose name is now synonymous with the founding of the RNLI. Image in my gallery, below.
Thank you for your support.
