I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Seaton

Friday 17th May
We went for a walk at the beach, a week ago, seeing as we are trying to raise funds for the RNLI. I saw a RNLI box on the shore. I’m assuming it was a first aid kit.

We are still going…

Friday 17th May
We had a little hiccup with a stomach bug and new job. We’ve gone on walks instead of running and missed one day of any activity. Hopefully we can keep up at least walking 1 mile a day.

Chan’s birthday

Thursday 9th May
Chan walked the dogs to the pub for her birthday.
I walked the boy to daycare.
Otis walked to and from the library.
Happy birthday Chan!

Day 8

Wednesday 8th May
Otis pulled the bot along for a little bit on his bike. Otherwise it was full speed ahead for him. The dogs were good and kept close by.

Evening run

Tuesday 7th May
We took the dogs out for our run up the road and back. They seemed to have enjoyed it. I noticed that I didn’t do as well as I had been Donny after three days of walking the mile instead. Hopefully we can starting running more again.

Day 6

Monday 6th May
The boy and I went for a walk today with the dogs. Otis is back at work. Hopefully we can get a run in tomorrow. We had loads of fun on our walk.
The weather was pleasant.

Sunday fun day

Sunday 5th May
Rain or shine the boy is ready for fun.

Sunday fun day

Sunday 5th May
We did our mile in the morning with the dogs and the boy. He wanted to run as well. So we ran when he said to and walked otherwise. There was some piggybacking for the boy. There was holding hand and running. He told us to stop and do exercise (stretch) at one point. We kicked the ball for one of the dogs. It was all done in the rain. It was very fun. There were some horses along the route. We usually run the route in 15min. It took us 34min today.

Saturday 4th May
Enjoying the spring weather!

May the force be with you day

Saturday 4th May
It was a lot of walking today. We went for a walk with friends. And when we did our 1 mile today we decided to walk it so we at least did it. The little boy was happy running after the dogs and wanted us to chase him. We had a fun walk instead of a run.

Day 3

Friday 3rd May
Today we decided to got to Staple hill to run around the forest and take turns with playing with the boy and the dogs.

One of the dogs wanted to run with me but then changed their mind so I had to run back a bit. Got a little cheer from Otis and the boy when I ran past them twice.

During Otis turn the boy gave him high fives! After we finished our runs the boy wanted me to give him a piggy back to the car and it was some up hill to that.
Nice weather today so was nice run.

Day 2

Thursday 2nd May
Second run done.
The dogs came with us instead, and Orion stayed home with Granny Channy.
The rain had stopped. But still cold.

Day 1

Thursday 2nd May
It was a rainy start but we went out and did it. Orion tagged along in the running buggy. Otis did a great job pushing it. Bumped into a local person walking their dog, who was impressed with us being out in the weather.

Let’s hope the rain lets up. But doesn’t look like it.
