Leo’s taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers like his Uncle!
This May, Leo is completing a mile a day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea, just like his Uncle Elliot has for 15 years!
During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.
By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.
Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

I’m Running the Mayday Mile for My Uncle Elliot!
Sunday 27th AprHello! My name is Leo and I am 4 years old.
I am doing a really, really big run called the Mayday Mile. It’s for the RNLI — they are the people who go out in boats to help anyone who is stuck or in trouble in the sea.
I’m doing it because my Uncle Elliot is a lifeboat man! He is very, very brave. When the loud beepy thing goes off, Uncle Elliot has to get to the station super fast, even if it’s raining or dark or if he’s eating his dinner (this happens a lot, but then it means I get his food too). Then he gets on the big lifeboat and goes whoosh over the waves to save people.
Sometimes I get a little bit scared of the sea because it’s big and splashy. But Uncle Elliot isn’t scared. He helps everybody. That’s why I want to help him back.
The Mayday Mile is where you walk or run or jump for a whole mile to say thank you to the lifeboat crews and to help them get the things they need — like boats and ropes and those big yellow jackets.
I’m only little (I have my daddy’s legs) so a mile is a LOT. But I am going to try my best because Uncle Elliot tries his best every day.
When I run my mile, I’m going to think about Uncle Elliot being strong and brave and zooming over the waves.
I want to make him proud, and help the RNLI save even more people.
That’s why I’m doing my Mayday Mile.
If you see someone doing a Mayday Mile, give them a big cheer! (And maybe a biscuit, milk free for me please!)
Thank you!
