How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

My Updates

And that’s a wrap!

Monday 29th Dec
After today’s 11km, I’m done for the month with 2 days to spare!
Total distance was exactly 102km/63.3miles, so absolutely smashed my original 24 mile target!

Again a huge thank you for everyone’s support, it’s been tough at times due to the illnesses that seem to be always headed my way, plus the busy December schedule, but I’ve also really appreciated the support I’ve had from everyone involved!

Thanks again, unfortunately I’ll be doing more of this crazy stuff in 2026! See you all next year! 🤪

We’re getting there!

Saturday 27th Dec
Another Parkrun this morning so another 5km (3miles) on the board, current total for December is just under 91km (56.5miles) with 4 full days of (potential) running to complete…

Didn’t feel amazing this morning due to full bottle of red wine I had to myself on Boxing Day (oooops), plus a really brutal Parkrun course at Vicar Water Country Park - some proper hills on this one!

Nearly there… 🤪

Xmas Parkrun

Thursday 25th Dec
After a brief few days of feeling a bit rubbish, I came back with a bang today at Xmas Day Parkrun… A new course PB at that venue, and another 5km in the bag.

50 miles!

Sunday 21st Dec
Put in a shift this morning with another 13km in the bank, taking my total distance with 10 days remaining to 80.7km, or in old money… 50.1 miles!

Next target is 100km by NYE…

Oooops….did more running…

Tuesday 16th Dec
So I picked up the pace a bit today and got another 8km in the bank… running total for the month is 61km (just under 38 miles)…

Feeling massively confident about smashing 50 miles/80km before the month is over… 👊

Again a huge thank you to all my supporters for you kindness…. It’s really inspiring me to work harder and get out there! ☺️

Went big this morning….

Sunday 14th Dec
I didn’t feel great today, a bit lethargic and I’ve hurt my shoulder in the gym yesterday….

But that didn’t stop me running over 10 miles on a beautiful Sunday morning! 😜

Might regret it on Monday… 🤪

Quick Friday Blast…

Friday 12th Dec
Another few miles on the clock today, before doing a long run on Sunday…
Well over half way in terms of sponsorship target so again a huge THANK YOU to everyone that’s supporting me, and to those that might soon… 😜

Another 10k down! New target incoming…

Tuesday 9th Dec
So I’m nearly 20 miles into my 24 mile target, and we’ve still got 22 full days left in the month!
I think that pledging to double my 24 mile target and aim for 50 miles (80km) this month is very achievable, so that’s what we’re now doing!

Keep
Showing
Up.

Sunday Parkrun Juniors

Sunday 7th Dec
Did a slow and steady one today with Ralphie at Junior Parkrun, couldn’t do a long Sunday run as the Mrs is away this weekend, so I’ve got to look after my own (!) children instead… 😜

Just over half marathon distance total! Half way!

3 runs in the bag! 10 miles down, more to run!

Friday 5th Dec
When you have to cut your run short to collect your kid from school…! 😬

Feeling a little jaded today after 2 nights out on the bounce (on work days), so am being fuelled on caffeine and all your kindness!
Thanks to everyone for your support (and donations) so far… more to come!

Keep showing up!

Run 2!

Thursday 4th Dec
Yep, in London!

I got completely lost, ran a few km’s, couldn’t find the Thames because I took a wrong turn, so I turned around and ran back!
But they all count!

And we’re off…

Tuesday 2nd Dec
A decent start, got a steady 8km (5 miles) in the pouring rain of Nottingham city centre.
Felt fresh after a good 10km over the last weekend… hope this feeling continues.

It’s been a year of firsts…

Saturday 22nd Nov
Until 2025 I’d never been on a cruise, never had a long haul flight, never left Europe…

That’s all changed…

I’ve not run a timed 10k for over 20 years…
That’s now changed…

I’ve done charity fundraising running events in the past, but not for a good 15 years…

Time to change that again…

I’m running at least 24 miles in December to raise money for for the RNLI, this is a springboard for more (madness) in 2026.

Please support if you can. ☺️
