I’m fundraising for the RNLI to help power brave lifesavers to the rescue
I’m taking on the four main peaks of Cadair Idris in one day to raise money for the RNLI and to show my solidarity with the volunteers who go out to sea to save lives, whoever those lives belong to.
The RNLI’s work is rooted in something very simple: when somebody is in danger, you help them. In recent times, lifeboat crews have faced criticism and hostility for rescuing people in the Channel, including being called “traitors” for doing exactly what they are there to do — save lives.
I wanted to respond in a positive way. So I’ll be climbing Craig Cwm Amarch, Penygadair, Cyfrwy and Mynydd Moel, carrying the RNLI flag with me and raising it on each summit.
This challenge is my small way of standing with the people who put themselves at risk to help others, and of supporting an organisation whose lifesaving work should never be taken for granted.
Every donation, however small, will help support the RNLI and the crews who answer the call when someone needs them most.

Four peaks. One day. One RNLI flag.
Wednesday 16th SepOn 3 October, I’ll be taking on four peaks of Cadair Idris in one day to raise money for the RNLI.
I’ll be climbing Craig Cwm Amarch, Penygadair, Cyfrwy and Mynydd Moel, carrying an RNLI flag with me to each summit.
This challenge is also a small gesture of solidarity with RNLI volunteers who have faced abuse for carrying out rescues in the Channel. The RNLI’s crews are volunteers, tasked by HM Coastguard, and their focus remains saving lives at sea without judgement or preference.
Training starts now, and I’ll be sharing updates as I prepare for the climb.
