Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

24 miles are complete! I have really enjoyed getting out over the past month to complete the RNLI Reindeer Challenge. A fun event for a wonderful charity! Thank you to everyone who donated so generously. 

In a head torch bubble

Penultimate run of this mini challenge. 2.4 miles added to the total in an evening head torch bubble.

Morning run on a beautiful & crisp Montgomery Boxing Day. Another 2-miles added to the total. Almost there!

Longest run of December

Sunday 21st Dec
A brief sit down needed at the top of Town Hill on this afternoon's run, the longest of this fundraising project. Another 3.2 miles added to the total.

Chilly evening jog

Tuesday 16th Dec
A chilly evening jog to take me just over the half way point in this year's Reindeer run. I was watched on by many tens of pairs of glistening green eyes from out in the darkness. The joys of living in Wales!

Another few miles completed on a soggy Monday afternoon off. 10/24 miles under my shoes so far.

Running for the hill of it

Friday 12th Dec
A fun early evening run along Offa's Dyke & through the Lymore estate to add 2.6 miles to the total. 

Misty Morning Run

Sunday 7th Dec
Another 2.4 miles added to the total with a misty morning run up Town Hill to Montgomeryshire War Memorial. 6 miles scratched off, 18 miles to go.

Tuesday 2nd Dec
A beautifully clear & crisp evening for day two. No need for the head torch with the moon and Christmas lights illuminating my way. 1.9 miles added to the total. Just over 20 miles to go.
