Taking on the Reindeer Run Challenge for RNLI lifesavers

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

My Updates

Practise started

Sunday 24th Nov
Completed a practise run on Wednesday at 8am, managed 3 miles - man, didn't I ache afterwards 🤣 probably not helped by falling on my arse in the mud.  Was planning to try again today, but this weather is not very inviting! #Storm Bert.  The RNLI are willing to risk their lives helping people at sea in this awful weather.

Saving lives by running? Who me?

Sunday 3rd Nov
We are pretty lucky to live by the sea, and every day I look out and am pretty amazed by how breathtaking it is. I've seen it on calm days and how inviting it is. On the rough days when the wind is blowing a hooly, I can't imagine how anyone can go out there.  My family have all grown up around the water; surfing, boating, paddleboarding, kayaking like many other local families. Knowing the RNLI are there and willing to risk their lives to save others, we are very grateful.
I am going to run 24 miles in December as part of my new journey to a better, more positive mental place, I don't normally run at all so it will be a challenge! I will be running the flatest coast paths I can find 🤣
