Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers
RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.
Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.
Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

Running for the RNLI: My December Challenge
Friday 14th NovThis December, I’m swapping cosy evenings and hot chocolate for running shoes and chilly miles — 24 of them, to be exact. I’ve set myself a personal challenge to run 24 miles throughout the month to raise money for the RNLI, an organisation I’ve admired for as long as I can remember.
I’ve never lived by the sea. In fact, the closest I usually get is the occasional windswept weekend break, but even from a distance, I’ve always admired the sea—and the people who protect those who rely on it. Their crews head out in the worst conditions imaginable, often when everyone else is heading indoors to safety. They’re volunteers, they’re brave, and they save countless lives every year. If running a few frosty miles can help support even one rescue, then every step will be completely worth it.
I’m not a marathon runner — far from it — but that’s what makes this challenge meaningful to me. I’ll be logging my progress, sharing the highs (and inevitable lows!), and reminding myself that a bit of December drizzle is nothing compared to what RNLI crews face.
If you’d like to support the cause, cheer me on, or even join me for a mile or two, I’d be incredibly grateful. Here’s to 24 miles, cold mornings, and helping the amazing people who keep our coasts safe. 💙🏃♀️🌊
