Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers
RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.
Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.
Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

Walking 24 Miles in 24 Days: Why I’m Stepping Up for the RNLI This December
Friday 23rd Oct
Living right by an RNLI lifeboat station, the sea is a constant part of my daily life—and so is the incredible dedication of the volunteer crew.
Every single week, twice a week without fail, I see them out on the water putting in hours of relentless practice. Rain or shine, freezing cold or rough seas, they are training to ensure they are ready for the worst. But it’s not just the practice runs. Time and again, I watch the pagers go off and the crew drop everything to launch into action on real call-outs, heading straight toward danger so someone else can come home safely.
Seeing that level of selfless commitment right on my doorstep is deeply inspiring. It’s also a powerful reminder that the RNLI is a charity, relying on community support to keep their boats fueled, their kit up to scratch, and their volunteers safe.
That’s why this December, I’m taking on my own challenge to support them: walking 24 miles over 24 days in the lead-up to Christmas.
While 24 miles in 24 days might sound simple on paper, committing to a mile a day through the darkest, coldest, and wettest month of the year is my small way of showing solidarity with the brave volunteers who brave those exact elements at a moment's notice.
If you’d like to support my challenge and help save lives at sea, please consider sponsoring my walk. Every single pound raised goes directly to providing the vital gear and training our local crew needs to keep us all safe.
Thank you so much for your support!
