Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers
RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.
Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.
Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

• “Running for the RNLI: Every Step Towards Saving Lives”
Tuesday 11th NovThis year, I’m lacing up my running shoes for a cause that truly makes waves — the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution). For nearly 200 years, the RNLI has been saving lives at sea, powered almost entirely by volunteers and public donations. Their crews brave stormy seas, dangerous conditions, and long nights — all to keep others safe.
Running might not be as perilous as launching a lifeboat into rough waters, but it’s my way of doing my bit to support their incredible work. Every mile I run helps fund the training, equipment, and boats that make rescues possible — from stranded swimmers to fishermen caught in gales.
So as I take on this challenge, I’ll be thinking of the RNLI volunteers who drop everything at a moment’s notice to answer the call for help. If you can, please consider sponsoring my run. Together, we can help ensure the lifeboats keep launching — and lives keep being saved.
