Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – Brighton Boaties Backing RNLI wouldn’t fancy launching into that even aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

My Updates

Made it but not finished yet!

Wednesday 12th Nov
Little surprised that my bike rides to the marina were included in my 24 mile target, but I am keeping going to make sure that I make the target by walking! What luck to live in a place right by the South Downs National Park. Lots of chalk cliffs so I’m sure the coastline of the Park is well known to the RNLI!

Time to start recording activity

Tuesday 4th Nov
Never know what nasty could be waiting around the córner to stop me achieving my 24 Reindeer miles by walking, so thanks to my walking group. I’ve starting recording my activity today. Best for me to get those Reindeer miles in the bank!

How easy is it to walk/run 24 miles in December?

Thursday 23rd Oct
Most of us probably walk at least a mile a day around our homes, just doing our daily tasks! Add to that Christmas shopping, mailing Christmas parcels, going to Christmas parties and other Christmas events, meeting up with family for Christmas, and that walk after Christmas lunch and you are there! So join us, and if not please at least donate to our page. Remember, you don’t need to plan to climb Scafell Pike to reach the magic figure. That would be a silly thing to do without a full set of snow equipment! Save money and join us, or at least donate some of what you have saved to our RNLI fund raising page! Merry Christmas …
