I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

Wind in the Willows and Bluebells

Tuesday 21st Apr
Last week I began my logged waking for the RNLI May Dale Mile by walking the Wind In  The Willows Trail at Anglesey Abbey. 12 sculptures of Toad, Ratty, Badger and Mole were placed around the gardens amongst the beautiful spring foliage and flowers. The sculptures were all linked to partner organisations with roles in farming, environment and nature and was a thought provoking trail as well as viewing the beautiful painted sculptures.
Afterwards I extended my walk by visiting some bluebell woods. I was the only bear in the woods and it was lovely and peaceful.
4.4 miles walked in total and a beautiful day spent close to nature.
I hope you will donate to my page to support the RNLI in memory of my friend Bear and his Mummy Helen. They loved being in nature too, had many outdoor adventures together and would have loved this Wind in the Willows trail.
The RNLI was their favourite charity and I hope I can do them proud.

Be More Bear 🐻

Wednesday 11th Mar
I am very excited to join Team More Bear again and take part in The May Day Mile for the first time to raise funds for the RNLI in memory of my friend Bear and his Mummy Helen.
In 2024 they took part in the May Day Mile and raised £900. After Helen suddenly and unexpectedly died last year Team Be More Bear was born to continue their legacy and undertake the May Day Mile fundraising event.
However I was unable to take part due to Mum’s recent foot surgery but by Christmas I was raring to go and joined the team to take part in the Reindeer Run, helping them to top the leaderboards for both fundraising and fitness.
May is approaching and it’s time to lace up our trainers and walk again and hopefully raise more funds for the RNLI. I am pledging to walk every day in May and aiming to improve on the 89 miles I walked in May. I hope you will sponsor me - the RNLI rely totally on charitable donations and the cost of maintaining their boats to keep them seaworthy is huge. Please help us to help them continue their vital work of saving lives at sea.
Thank you for reading and lots of bear hugs from Arthur.
