How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

Bear's RNLI Crew

Exciting miles today

Friday 5th Dec
Hello!   Today was a very different way to get in my Reindeer Miles.  Me and my little #bears_rnli_crew members Jack and Jill met up with some plushie pals, including two of my "Be More Bear at Christmas" team mates.  We had travelled to Bents Garden Centre in Lancashire from Yorkshire (me), Cheshire and the Cotswolds, and between chatting, drinking tea and eating cake and exploring one of the biggest garden centres we'd ever seen, we put in 2 miles of walking!  Here's a photo of our Bear's RNLI crew members who helped us today...all hand crafted by my teammate Boris to raise funds for the RNLI.  They are wearing antlers made by another teammate, Dr Bob, who lives in the Netherlands.  I am very proud to be part of this amazing group of friends, brought together in kindness by our love of furry animals, and in memory of our dear friends Helen and Bear, who were the best of the best. X

Hand in paw...

Thursday 4th Dec
...on we go. Another step (or 4000) along the way. 🎅🦌🛷✨️

Theo's Mummy here today because I want to say that every step feels like Helen and Bear are with us.  Helen supplying the mini pork pies and Bear saying, "Get a grip Auntie Winz", whenever I complain about the weather or having to leave the comfort of my chair by the fire.  The brave souls who we are raising money for don't just go for a walk around the park or supermarket, they go out in the cold and dark on the roughest of seas.  When I think like that, putting on my jacket and hoisting my umbrella seems like a small thing to do.  Helen and Bear knew this and so do we.  So another step along the way we go.  "Come on Theo!  Time to go for a walk."  🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

We're ready

Monday 1st Dec
My #bears_rnli_crew and I are ready to start!

Day One ☔️

Monday 1st Dec
It's Day One and I'm just about to head out for my first official mile! (Mummy has put a little hot water bottle in my travel bag so I don't get too chilly. And also for her hands I think.  🤭)  It's a cold, wet day so I've got my new "Be More Bear at Christmas" shirt on from my friend Dr Bob, who lives in the Netherlands but is walking with us as part of our team. If you don't know, we are an international team of plushie pals who met on Instagram, and we also have members walking in Germany and Mexico to support our wonderful RNLI and honour our much missed friends, Helen and Bear. I hope we can raise lots of money and make them proud of us. Right...let's go!   🐾🐾🐾🐾☔️

And we're off!

Wednesday 19th Nov
If you're reading this you should know that I'm a little bear who lives in Yorkshire. In January my Mummy and I lost our best friends, Auntie Helen and her bear, Bear very unexpectedly. Our worldwide community of plushie friends have been raising money since then, and after my Mummy had a knee replacement in July, we can finally join in too!.  Today was our first day, and it coincided with the first snow of the winter.  We waited until it had melted to go out because of Mummy's new knee, but it was lovely and crisp and we're excited to add our miles to our team total.  Go Team Be More Bear at Christmas.  🐻🐾🤗❤️❤️❤️✨️
