How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

My RNLI Reindeer Run 2025

Tuesday 2nd Dec
Hi,
So I’ve followed the RNLI for all of my life and they have a special place in my heart.  I can’t completely explain why, but I think it’s my fascination with the sea and boats and also the fact that the Crews of the RNLI give themselves without question and completely selflessly.  They are tasked 24/7 and every week of the year and risk their lives to rescue those who are in peril.  They do not judge, they just do their job, no political slant, no hidden agenda, their ultimate goal is to save lives.   I admire their bravery, their professionalism and the attitude that they never give up, even though situations can become very bleak.
My husband donated money for me to have my name added to the Invergordon Lifeboat and my late father’s name is carried in the Wells-Next-The-Sea Lifeboat.  I feel immensely proud and I know that my father would have absolutely felt the same too.  I feel that I play a small part in helping these Crews to come home safely and also to provide the kit, training and resources they need to keep them safe in the worst of weather.
Running 24 miles is no hardship for me and I know that I’m helping them to rescue anyone who needs them.  I’ll face no risk, no danger, maybe possible rain and wind, but nothing compared to what they can experience.
I admire and respect these people wherever they are based and they deserve all of the donations which the kind members of the public send to them.
I’m doing my bit, wish me luck. 😊
