Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers

I'm taking on this years RNLI Reindeer run, I'll be running/walking 24 miles during December raising vital funds for the charity that saves lives at sea. Please donate if you can and be a lifesaver too. Your donation will also go into our team effort 'RNLI Launch a Memory Supporters' team. Can we reach the top of the leaderboard???

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

13 December Hadleigh to Leigh

Saturday 13th Dec
Starting in Hadleigh we walked through the Olympic mountain bike track down to Old Leigh via Hadleigh Castle, lunch at the Peterboat and back. I am unable to run due to a knee injury so have decided to add 12 miles to my target walking distance.

11 December Bradwell on Sea 6.8 miles

Thursday 11th Dec
6.8 miles from Bradwell quay on the Blackwater estuary, round the sea wall to St Peters church and back through Bradwell village. Beautiful weather for walking today.

10th December, a trip down memory lane.

Wednesday 10th Dec
Just three miles today, but what a blast from the past. I went back to where I grew up over 50 years ago. The Glen in South Benfleet. So many memories came flooding back. It was all very familiar yet so different.

4th December

Thursday 4th Dec
We took a brisk walk along a blustery Southend pier to the offshore RNLI station and back

2nd December 2025

Tuesday 2nd Dec
Today we covered 4.5 miles. Starting at Southend RNLI inshore station along to Thorpe Bay Yacht Club and back to the station for a cup of tea and biscuits.

Happy to support such wonderful work from here in the USA. My father was a crew member back in the 70’s and the RNLI holds a special place in my heart.
